About.

I've been fortunate to call many places "home." Each came with new people, new memories, new lessons. I wanted a way to orient myself to these homes and my time living there, so I used an ancient solution: maps. I designed and 3D printed topographical maps of the town where I grew up, the city where I went to university, and the area I currently call "home." There was missing something from these first maps, though.

Architects and designers talk about "bringing the outside in." Natural elements - plants, flowers, natural light - make our spaces feel inviting and comfortable. When I balanced the sharp lines of the maps with a few layers of moss, the projects felt complete. Moss helped the maps feel more natural and alive, but also introduced a much-needed change in texture and pop of color. My first order came from a coworker who wanted a map of their hometown. I made a website so they could easily select a map location and named it "Highground" after the implied perspective of the selection tool.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to the privilege of helping map your world.
